It's that time of the year again. Christmas!! So, where should you go to enjoy the scenic winter illuminations this winter? This is the continuation of the previous article.

Roppongi Hills Artelligent Christmas

mori.co.jpAlong Keyakizaka with over 1.2 million LEDs, Roppongi Hills comes alive. Lights glittering from "Snow and Blue" to "Candle and Red" along the posh streets of Roppongi. You can enjoy your stroll through the stores and enjoy some mulled wine as this year's Artelligent Christmas will also feature at 66 Plaza and West Walk. Besides that, you can also check out the Christmas concert and market.

Marunouchi Illumination
tokyocheapo.comThis year, Marunouchi Illumination turns Yurakucho, Tokyo and the Otemachi area into a picturesque European Christmas miracle with its champagne gold lights that will decorate the cobblestone streets, sculptures and 200 roadside trees along 1.2 kilometers of the chicest town. The whole illumination is an eco-friendly affair as it the lights uses 65 percent less power. Feel Christmas-y in the classiest way possible by following the string of fairy lights to Mikimoto Christmas tree along the Chuo Dori.

Yomiuri Land Jewellumination
 
kosublog.comYomiuri Land, which is about an hour away from Shinjuku on the Odakyu Line, continues their Jewellumination illumination event with the dazzling jewel-like lights and the night view of Tokyo. Designed by Makoto Ishii, the illumination is the largest in the metropolitan area with over 5.5 million lights. Check out the 27-meter Jewellery Lighthouse (opens on November 16), enjoy skating on the newly-open ice skating rink and surround yourself with the new Sweets Area as you watch the colorful illuminations sparkle around you.

Autumn Evening Illumination at Rikugien Gardens
 
gotokyo.orgEnjoy the last colorful leaves of autumn before winter really sets in. Rikugien Garden was built by a feudal lord during the Edo period to reflect scenes from waka poems. The Tsukiyama-Sensui style garden's illumination event is a perfect way to admire the last fiery flames of autumn and welcome the approaching Christmas season.


Duration : Nov 18, 2017 ~ Dec 6, 2017 (16:30 ~ 21:00)

Odaiba Illumination "Yakei"
odaiba-decks.comOdaiba "Yakei" Illumination runs throughout the year but especially breathtaking in the winter time. This illumination which uses 40 trees over a course of 200 meters and 220,000 colorful lights adds to the beautiful skyline that features Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Bay, Tokyo Tower, and the Rainbow Bridge. The illumination will also features the Illusion Dome, Asia's first projection system that detects human movements and projects 360-degree images of them. Odaiba Memorial Tree, the  largest living tree in Tokyo is also a perfect spot to take a picture in front of. With 20 meters high and 10 meters wide, it looks extra sparkly during Christmas time.


Duration : Throughout the year, sunset to midnight.

Sagamiko Illumillion

Packed with performances such as  the Splash Swan performance, a water and light show timed to music (6 million lights!), 21 illumination rides and attractions (i.e. rollercoasters, bumper cars, a ski lift and an aquarium and zoo featuring illuminated fish and animals) Unleash your inner adrenaline junkie  while celebrate the illuminations.

Yebisu Garden Place Christmas Illumination
timeout.comDecked out for the 18th century, Baccarat Eternal Lights is dubbed the most spectacular of Tokyo's winter illuminations. "Timeless" is decided to be this year's theme. Therefore, everything is decked out in gold. It also features the most anticipated huge chandelier made with 8,472 crystal pieces and 250 lights and also the towering Christmas tree decorated with 100,000 red baubles wrapped with strings of fairy lights. Walk through this winter wonderland with a frosty pint at the Yebisu Beer Hall.
